What it does
Postie is an API client for people who are tired of Postman. It imports Postman collections, environments and globals, and runs pre-request and test scripts in a QuickJS sandbox. No account, no cloud workspace: collections live in one file on the Mac and secret values in the macOS keychain. Claude Code or Codex, signed in with the user's own account, can read, edit and send requests through a local MCP server. Teams share collections through their own Supabase project. Built with Tauri; only the macOS version is released today.
Highlights
- Postman v2.0 and v2.1 collections, environments and globals; anything that does not come across is listed in the import report.
- Pre-request and test scripts in a QuickJS sandbox with time and memory limits: pm.environment, pm.request, pm.response, pm.test, pm.expect.
- Secret values and credentials in the macOS keychain; Protected environments ask twice before sending.
- Folder or collection runner: sends requests in order, pass or fail for each.
- MCP server on 127.0.0.1 with a per-launch token; Claude Code and Codex edit and send requests without seeing secret values.
- Team sync through the user's own Supabase project; secret values never leave the device.
